Our History

Swannsylvania Baptist Church was founded in 1901. Services were held in the Swannsylvania School until 1906 when the congregation moved into a newly erected church built on land adjacent to the school. This structure burned in 1966, but was rebuilt on the same site later that year. In 1988, Swannsylvania broke ground for an addition to the church building,  including an educational wing and fellowship hall. A multi-purpose family life center was added in 1999.

In 2004, Swannsylvania began a new ministry, God’s Willing Vessels, a food pantry to serve the local community. In 2008, a new building was constructed to provide the necessary space to more efficiently serve the community through this ministry each month.

Swannsylvania’s location in Dandridge, Tennessee is unique, affording the church the opportunity to minister to families in a five-county area and interstate travelers as well. The church offers study and activities for all ages, seeking to teach and disciple everyone. Come and worship with us. In Christ, we have “Strength from the Past and Boldness for the Future.”
